Since Health Sector Evolution Plan (HSEP) was implemented with the idea of increasing people's access to hospital services, this study aimed to compare the rate and causes of cancellation of surgical procedures in public hospitals before and after HSEP.
Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was carried out in two public hospitals in Zahedan in 2017. A total of 8138 of registered profiles were selected randomly and reviewed. A standard checklist containing 9 questions were used for data gathering. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi-square tests and through SPSS software version 21.
Results: The number of surgies has increased after HSEP. Befor HSEP, most of the surgeries had been canceled for organizational and managerial reasons (58%) while after HSEP, patient issues were the main cause of cancellation of surgeries (66%). Surgery cancellation related to the surgery team, patient, anesthesia, medical, equipment and organisation had a significant relation with the marital status of patients (P=0.011) and their type of health insurance (P= 0.021).
Conclusion: Performing detailed planning for operating rooms, providing necessary training programs for patients, patients' visit by anesthesiologists, as well as quantitative and qualitative improvement of operating room conditions can increase the efficiency of oprtaing rooms and hospitals.Kerman University of Medical SciencesHealth and Development Journal2783-28217320181101Epidemiologic Study of Tuberculosis in Kerman City during 2011 â 2015اپیدمیولوژی بیماری سل در شهرستان کرمان طی سالهای 1390 تا 13942182269128910.22062/jhad.2018.91289ENSalmanDaneshiAhmadNaghibzadeh-TahamiAli RezaRazaghiMahnazSheikhshoaeiEsmatRezabeigi DavaraniJournal Article20200824Background: Tuberculosis is one of the most important infectious diseases causing numerous social and economic problems. Methods: In this cross-sectional and descriptive-analytic study, data were collected by a researcher-made check list and using the recorded data in the Tuberculosis surveillance system during 2011 to 2015. Data analysis was done through SPSS20 and using descriptive statistics, frequency distribution and Chi-square test.
Results: A total number of 674 cases were studied of which, 87% were pulmonary and the rest were extra-pulmonary. The disease showed a decreasing trend during the years of study. The incidence rate of drug-resistant tuberculosis was about 10 per ten thousand. Approximately, 4% of patients had recurrent disease during the years of study. In pulmonary tuberculosis, the risk of recurrence and resistance was significantly higher compared to extra-pulmonary tuberculosis (P= 0.001). From all patients, about 4% had previous treatment for TB and 2.5% were HIV-positive.
Conclusion: Indicators of tuberculosis in the city of Kerman in comparison with the indicators set by the World Health Organization were acceptable; however, due to the geographical location of Kerman that its closeness to eastern borders a stronger surveillance system is required.Kerman University of Medical SciencesHealth and Development Journal2783-28217320181101Exploring Strategies Adopted by Adolescent Girls for Continuing Sports Activitiesتبیین راهبردهای اتخاذ شده توسط دختران نوجوان جهت تداوم فعالیتهای ورزشی2272389129010.22062/jhad.2018.91290ENSeyyed VahideHosseiniMonirehAnooshehAbbasAbbaszadehMohammadEhsaniJournal Article20200824Background: Physical activity maintenance is an active process that requires active use of strategies and techniques for its maintenance. The present study was designed to understand these strategies from the viewpoints of adolescent girls, who are often significantly less physically active than their male counterparts.
Methods: This study was a qualitative content analysis conducted through semi-structured interviews with 25 participants (16 adolescent girls, 7 mothers and two fathers). Data gathering was continued until data saturation. All the interviews were recorded, transcribed, and finally were analyzed by conventional content analysis using OneNote.
Results: The Strategy of "strive for perfection", with categories of reviewing experiences and thoughtful decision making and activity, was the dominant strategy used by adolescent girls to continue their sport activities.
Conclusion: Adolescent girls in the recent study facilitated the continuation of their sports activities through using cognitive and behavioral strategies appropriate to their conditions. Therefore, it seems that paying attention to creating conditions for adolescents to have their own choices, decisions and strategies is useful in the continuation of sports activities.Kerman University of Medical SciencesHealth and Development Journal2783-28217320181101Mental Health Status (Depression, Anxiety and Stress) of Employed and Unemployed Women in Yazd, Iran, 2015بررسی سلامت روان (افسردگی، اضطراب، استرس) در زنان شاغل و غیر شاغل شهر یزد در سال 13942392499129110.22062/jhad.2018.91291ENMahdiehMomayyeziFatemehFarzanehMohammad HasanLotfiJournal Article20200824Background: Women are one of the sensitive groups that in comparison to men are at higher risk of mental disorders.
